The Busy Banders

I helped again today at the banding event over at Prairie Ridge, staying until about 10:30am. I mostly recorded for those who processed the birds we netted, and we netted lots of birds. The best one for the day was a site bird, a Blue-headed Vireo, which you see in these photos. The Swamp Sparrow was also spectacular in the hand, more so than through binocular views. Such rich rusty tones. A Magnolia Warbler was quite fun to observe up close. We caught more than one female Indigo Bunting with cinnamon hues.
